Abstract
Students will assist Prof. Hodges in investigating local newspapers and archives about the activities and records of Henry Highland Garnet, a noted Black abolitionist, minister and writer in nineteenth-century America and specifcially central New York. While much of the research can be done locally, there will be some travel involved within a 50 mile radius. The ultimate goal is a compact biography of Garnet. Students will work directly with Prof. Hodges
Student Qualifications
some knowledge of American history, diliigence and a driver's license.
