Abstract

Modelling and Mapping the Historical Colgate Campus
Three students to collaborate on the development of three-dimensional models of the Colgate campus and surrounding community.  One model will be based on contempoprary topographical information, while others will stretch back to the period of founding.  A cache of models of Colgate and Village buildings, capable of insertion into the topographical models,  will be archived.  The software for the models will be Sketchup Studio.  Work will be undertaken in Little Art Building with supporting research involving the University Archives in Case Geyer.  Along with the 3d model, students will contribute to publishable maps of the campus and community at different historical moments crucial to the evolution of the campus. Finally, one week will be devoted to the physical reorganization of the Archive of Historical Architectural Drawings in the Visual Resources Library.
