A multi-epoch spectroscopic study of accretion and outflow signatures in binary T Tauri systems

This projct seeks a better understanding between the infall and outflowing material in accreting binary star systems. Using accretion and outflow signatures acquired in near-simultaneous observations, students will search for correlations and kinematic structures that may shed light on the physical process involved in such systems and how they compare to single stars. Students researchers will be involved in each step of the project including data collection, data reduction, and analysis. Students will also be expected to present as part of the research group at the Keck Northeast Astronomy Consortium's Fall Symposium.

Student Qualifications

The strongest applicants will have had ASTR 210 and/or ASTR 312, but one year of intro physics will be considered satisfactory.
